“My desire is for every client to know and feel heard, and to bring stability and health back into their lives.”
Hi, I’m Sandra Brougher. I’m a Functional Nutritionist and Lifestyle Practitioner, Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Holistic Health Coach, Transformational Method Coach, Gluten Practitioner as well as certified through the Hashimoto’s Institute practicing functional nutrition at the Functional Nutrition Alliance (FxNA). I live in Austin, Texas, with my husband, kids, and an assortment of animals.
As far back as I can remember, I’ve had two goals in life – to be a mother and a teacher. Luckily, my life has allowed me to reach both of those goals. I’m a mother of three beautiful children, and my work as a functional nutritionist focuses on teaching my clients about the healing powers of nutrition.
I didn’t always have a passion for health and nutrition, but like so many of us, personal health experiences led me down the path to finding alternatives and complements to pharmaceuticals.
My daughter was diagnosed with mental health issues, my husband with hypothyroidism, and I was dealing with raging PMS and adrenal fatigue. I knew it was time to take control of my family’s health.
I began my studies at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) and became a Certified Holistic Health Coach. It was at IIN that I met Andrea. I was introduced to her detoxes, and then to her professional training programs through Holistic Nutrition Lab.
Andrea’s Digestive Intensive helped me see physiology and nutrition in a whole new way. We dove deep into the inner workings of the body, and when I completed the course I was hungry for more! I have since completed all of Andrea’s practitioner programs and I continue to learn from her each day.
I am constantly looking for ways to expand my expertise and satisfy my hunger for knowledge. I’m always asking questions like: What makes our bodies function properly? Why do our bodies break down? What nutrients are necessary for optimal health? What foundational supports must we repair to bring the body back into balance?
My quest for the answers to these questions led me to the Nutritional Therapy Association (NTA) where I obtained my certification as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. This knowledge, together with the invaluable mentorship from Andrea, help me to be the practitioner and teacher I have always wanted to be.
By putting into place the knowledge I’ve learned and practicing what I preach, I’ve been able to transform my own health as well as the health of my family. As I’ve found, it can often be a delicate, illuminating and rich journey and I’m prepared to walk by your side as we uncover the nuances that will lead to your desired health goals.
