“I aim to create a bridge toyour nourishment and revitalization.”
Hi, I’m Megan Liebmann, and I am a Certified Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Practitioner, I have a Master’s Degree in Functional Nutrition, and am a Certified Holistic Health Counselor practicing Functional Nutrition at the Functional Nutrition Alliance (FxNA). I live in the country outside Portland Oregon with my husband James and our two sweet boys Oskar and Gus.
My path to nutrition and holistic healing started fifteen years ago when I watched my closest friend and confidant fall subject to conventional medicine while battling a rare autoimmune disease called Wegener’s Granulomatosis. Witnessing my nearest and dearest waste away propelled me towards alternative modes of healing. I needed to understand what existed beyond the realm of the conventional. I began studying herbal medicine and as soon as I gleaned the healing powers of herbs, I knew that I wanted to help people discover the benefits of botanicals, food, and nutrition.
After graduating with a BS in Biology from the Evergreen State College, I moved to Portland where a mutual friend introduced me to Andrea Nakayama. I was fortunate to be taken under Andrea’s wing and since 2009 I’ve had the honor of shadowing her, learning from her, and watching both the Functional Nutrition Alliance and her outreach grow. I’m proud to say that I’ve been a part of that process every step of the way.
During this time I also attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN), where I received my CHHC and recently I completed my Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from The University of Bridgeport. Yet working under Andrea’s direct tutelage I’ve received a better training than I could have in any certification program. I’m proud to claim that I have a one-of-a-kind education directly from Andrea Nakayama that has given me the tools to address each client’s unique needs through the proven lens of Functional Nutrition and lifestyle modification.
Over the years Andrea has also encouraged and supported my continuing education in both Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and herbal medicine so that I can bring the benefits of both back to the expansiveness of the care that we offer our clients. I’ve also had the opportunity to pursue my passion for women’s health, supporting women through the early years of motherhood, addiction, and children’s health.
When working with clients, my goal is to work as a guide to help each person cultivate their physiological and spiritual nourishment through my work with botanical medicine, Functional Nutrition, food, supplemental therapies and lifestyle modifications. I aim to create a bridge from the place at which you enter the process of our nutritional support to the place of nourishment and revitalization that is unique to you. I counsel adults, children, and entire families both here in Portland and around the world to create sustainable lifestyle changes that are in alignment with their unique definition of wellness.
